The Wiener Library was created in 1933 by Dr Alfred Wiener, a German Jew who collected information about the Nazis and the danger they to the Jews of Germany and to Germany as a nation.
After the Nazi came to power in 1933, he fled with his family to Amsterdam, where he continued documenting abuses and distributing information around the world.
In 1939, just before the outbreak of World War II, he arranged for the Wiener Collection to come to the UK.
